Coffee the beverage of Kings and Queens is believed to have originated on the Arabian Peninsula over 2000 years ago, where it still grows wild today. Coffee was first cultivated near by in Africa and brought by Arab traders and raised from seeds. Those seeds evolved into the two coffees that are used today for commercial purposes, Coffea Arabica and Coffea Robusta. The harsher Robusta beans are found most often in canned and instant coffees. The refined Arabica beans are the select, high quality beans used in specialty coffees.
