Tips From Our Top Banana
Fresh Roasted Beans
To avoid stale, sour coffee taste use fresh roasted beans and store properly!
Coffee Storage
Store whole beans in the freezer or a cool dry place. Avoid direct contact to moisture and air. Store brewed coffee in a thermos, carafe or air pot and avoid leaving brewed coffee on a burner.
Quality Beans
100% Coffea Arabica beans grown at high altitudes are the world's best.
Good Water
If the water tastes good, the coffee tastes good. Avoid distilled or chlorinated water.
The Right Grind
Use the correct grind for your brewing method and grind just before use
- French Press, use a course grind, 6 seconds
- Drip coffee maker, use a medium grind, 10 seconds.
- Espresso machine, use a fine grind, 25 second.
Correct Proportions
Use 2 tablespoons ground coffee per 6 ounces of water or 3 ounces of ground coffee for 10 cups. If you want to dilute your coffee, add water after brewing.
Clean Equipment
Rinse with water between use, soap imparts undesirable flavor. Periodically brew distilled vinegar in your equipment. Coffee absorbs other flavors, so use gold filters made of steel.
